I have two rules

  1. I make the rules up as I go along
  2. I can change any rule when I like

Having said this there are some general characteristics about my walking. At the moment I seem to be limiting myself to walking around England, although really this is just the consequence of a couple of events – starting on Offa’s Dyke which is broadly along the Wales/England border and buying a cottage in Reeth, Swaledale on Wainwright’s Coast-to-Coast Path.

In the main I am coastal walking and this does not usually include estuaries but sometimes does. For example I walked the Wash but very little of the Thames estuary. Where possible I get ferries across estuaries. I do not pedantically adhere to restarting at exactly the same spot where I finished on a previous trip.
